First Stop: The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

Descend into the most mysterious site in Alexandria — the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an underground burial site dating back to the 2nd century AD. This site is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages and is unique for its blend of Pharaonic, Hellenistic, and Roman art and architecture.

Second Stop: Pompey’s Pillar & Serapeum Ruins

Next, head to one of Alexandria's most iconic monuments — Pompey’s Pillar, a towering 27-meter red granite column built in honor of Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century AD. Though often misunderstood (it has nothing to do with Pompey the Great), this is the largest Roman triumphal column outside of Rome.

Surrounding the pillar are the ruins of the Serapeum, an ancient temple complex that once held the famed library annex and a colossal statue of Serapis.

Third Stop: The Roman Amphitheatre

Continue to the only Roman Amphitheatre ever discovered in Egypt. This well-preserved semicircular theatre, with its 13 white marble terraces, was used for musical performances and public debates during Roman times. It showcases the architectural finesse of the ancient city.

Fourth Stop: The New Library of Alexandria (Bibliotheca Alexandrina)

No visit to Alexandria is complete without exploring the modern-day tribute to the ancient Library of Alexandria — the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, inaugurated in 2002.

The lighthouse that once stood here was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Today, the fort provides:
